MetricFold terms of service

Effective date: 1 August 2026.

These terms govern access to MetricFold. By creating an account, starting a subscription or using the service on behalf of an organisation, the account holder agrees to these terms and confirms authority to bind that organisation. If a separate signed order conflicts with these online terms, the signed order controls for the conflict.

MetricFold is operated from South Africa. The legal entity name, registration details and physical notice address will be inserted before public paid checkout is enabled. Until those particulars and the corresponding Dodo merchant profile are complete, the application remains a pre-launch commercial build and no page should be interpreted as accepting a paid order.

The service

MetricFold provides first-party-capable web and product analytics, dashboards, reports, APIs, streams, external metric connections and AI-readable evidence. Features may vary by capacity tier or written enterprise order. Public descriptions state the intended capability but do not create a guarantee that a beta, preview or third-party-dependent integration will always be available.

The customer is responsible for its sites, event plan, notices, legal bases, users and connected accounts. MetricFold does not provide legal, tax or accounting advice. A cookie-free collector can reduce a privacy surface but does not make every implementation consent-free in every jurisdiction.

Accounts and workspaces

Users must provide accurate account information, protect authentication factors and promptly revoke access that is no longer authorised. Workspace owners control invitations, sites, API keys and provider connections. Actions taken with a valid account or key are treated as authorised unless MetricFold was notified of compromise and had reasonable time to respond.

MetricFold may require email verification, multi-factor authentication or additional verification for sensitive actions. Accounts may not be shared in a way that defeats security or contracted capacity. Automated clients must use scoped API keys rather than browser passwords.

Trials, subscriptions and payment

The standard trial lasts 30 days and includes up to 100,000 accepted signals without a payment card, unless a written offer says otherwise. A signal is an accepted page view, product event or trusted business event after validation, traffic-quality filtering and duplicate suppression. Rejected bots, invalid events, report reads, exports and duplicate retries do not consume the ordinary signal meter.

Paid plans renew monthly or annually until cancelled. Dodo Payments acts as merchant of record for supported checkout and handles payment methods, applicable transaction taxes and receipts under its terms. Prices are shown in the checkout currency before purchase. A plan move, credit, refund or exceptional capacity arrangement is effective only when confirmed by MetricFold or the payment provider.

MetricFold intends to continue collection through a short capacity spike and warn before a plan change. Repeated or extreme overuse may require a higher tier, a contracted limit or temporary rate control to protect other customers. This operational intention does not create an unlimited free-capacity right.

Customers can cancel renewal through the provided billing flow. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period unless the checkout or law requires otherwise. Refund rights depend on applicable law, provider policy and the circumstances of the order. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer rights.

Customer data and instructions

The customer retains its rights in customer analytics and connected metrics. The customer instructs MetricFold to process that data to provide, secure and support the service. MetricFold may use aggregate, non-identifying operational statistics to plan capacity and improve reliability, but does not sell customer analytics or use one customer's visitor events for another customer's advertising.

Customers must not send special-category information, payment credentials, secrets, form values, direct identifiers or content that violates the data policy. Customers must respond to their users' privacy requests and maintain lawful notices. MetricFold will provide reasonable processor assistance and may remove or quarantine data that creates a security or legal risk.

Acceptable use

The service may not be used to surveil people unlawfully; collect passwords, card details or private message content; fingerprint devices contrary to policy; distribute malware; probe systems without permission; evade consent or access controls; infringe intellectual property; harass or discriminate; create deceptive proof; or attack the availability of MetricFold or another service.

Rate limits, payload bounds, origin rules and query limits are security controls and must not be bypassed. Security research must follow the published disclosure boundary. MetricFold may suspend a key, collector or account when reasonably necessary to contain abuse, protect tenants, meet a legal duty or investigate compromise. Where safe and lawful, notice and an opportunity to cure will be provided.

Third-party services

MetricFold can connect to payment gateways, social networks, authentication providers and customer APIs. Those services are governed by their own terms and can change permissions, quotas, data shapes or availability. The customer authorises the connection and is responsible for maintaining the provider account. MetricFold is not liable for a third party's independent acts, but will handle stored credentials and failures according to the security boundary.

Advertising destinations remain separate from core analytics and must be configured with the appropriate purpose and consent. MetricFold does not warrant that sending a conversion makes it eligible for a particular ad-platform programme.

Intellectual property and feedback

MetricFold and its licensors retain rights in the service, software, visual system, documentation and trademarks. The subscription grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the hosted service during the account term. It does not transfer source code or permit resale unless a written white-label or partner order says so.

Customers may provide feedback. MetricFold may use that feedback without obligation, provided it does not disclose confidential customer data or falsely represent an endorsement.

Availability, changes and warranties

MetricFold will use reasonable care to operate the service and communicate material planned changes. Internet software is not error-free. Except for warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded, the service is provided without an implied guarantee of uninterrupted availability, perfect bot classification, exact parity with another analytics tool, a specific ranking outcome or a particular commercial result.

Beta and preview features may change or be withdrawn. Material reductions to a paid core capability will be communicated where reasonably possible. Enterprise uptime or support commitments exist only in a signed order.

Liability

Neither party excludes liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from fraud or wilful misconduct where applicable. Subject to that boundary, neither party is liable for indirect, special or consequential loss, lost profit, lost opportunity or loss caused by the other party's unlawful data collection.

MetricFold's aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the fees paid by the customer for the affected service during the 12 months before the event, unless a signed order or mandatory law provides a different limit. A free-trial claim is limited to the greater of the legally required amount and USD 100. These allocations are part of the pricing basis.

Termination, law and notices

Either party may terminate for a material breach that is not cured within a reasonable written period, or immediately for an incurable security, legal or abuse breach. On termination, access ends and customer data follows the export and deletion windows in the data policy. Provisions that logically survive, including payment, confidentiality, intellectual property, liability and dispute terms, continue.

These terms are governed by South African law, subject to mandatory consumer and privacy rights elsewhere. Courts with jurisdiction in South Africa hear disputes unless a signed order provides arbitration or another forum. Before formal proceedings, the parties should attempt in good faith to resolve a written notice for 30 days.
